About Me
Since the commencement of my undergraduate education, I have had the opportunity to be involved in several different groups on campus including Material Advantage, the Society of Women Engineers, the Women’s Mentoring Program, and Tau Beta Pi. I have served on the executive board of Material Advantage, a materials professional society, in several roles including Chair, Secretary, and Senior Advisor. Planning national conference trips, establishing new events, and growing the number of students in the program are some of my major contributions to this organization. I also founded and chaired a new chapter of the Electrochemical Society to work with Material Advantage and host related speakers. One of my passions is promoting women in engineering and science which I have accomplished by participating in K-12 outreach, the Women’s Mentoring Program, and the Society of Women Engineers. As the Publicity Chair for the Society of Women Engineers, I directed marketing efforts and distributed weekly updates to over 800 subscribers. I was also granted the opportunity to provide formal mentoring in the form of personal, academic, and professional guidance to younger students through the Women’s Mentoring Program.
