About Me
As a freshman, I became very involved in the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) as the Freshman Representative. Responsibilities characteristic of this role include serving as the liaison between other freshman members and the Executive Board. I was also part of the SHPE Jr. committee as the Financial Coordinator. I worked with Amsterdam High School to inspire students to pursue STEM related careers and to plan and budget workshops and activities during the school year. I also joined Phi Iota Alpha, Fraternity Incorporated my first semester here. I then continued to serve as the Recruitment Chair, Social Chair, and Assistant New Member Educator the next semester.
This year, I’m serving as the Vice President of SHPE. I am an adviser to the President and the SHPE Jr. committee. In addition, I was a part of the 38th Annual NSBE/SHPE Career Fair Staff as a Recruiting Committee Understudy where we make sure the companies the student body requested come to the career fair. I’m also an advisor for our SHPE Outreach Program, a weekend where we bring around 50 high school students from the city to RPI for a weekend of engineering activities and college experience. My current role at Phi Iota Alpha is as the Public Relations Chair and New Member Educator.
