About Me
Since I came to RPI, I have been involved in various groups on campus including Center for Initiatives in Pre-College Education (CIPCE), Material Advantage, Center for Communication Practices, and Tau Beta Pi. I served on the E-board of Material Advantage, a materials professional society, as a secretary my sophomore year and as a Chair my senior year. I mainly planned conference trips and increases the size of our society; during my leadership, our chapter was recognized as the Most Outstanding Chapter in the nation.
I also have a strong passion in education. If you imagine your life as a scattered plot with a horizontal axis of time and accomplishments as data points, for me, these dots are connected by one trend line: education. At RPI, I became an active member in various outreach organizations and taught science and engineering for underrepresented students. I also worked at RPI’s Communications Center as a peer consultant. Seeing the light bulb go off in students’ eyes is the most satisfying feeling in outreach. To me, that moment is worth staying up hours to come up with hundreds of analogies to help them understand a topic.
